Welcome to the webmaster's page. I'll use this space for things I think will be enjoyable or helpful to you as a member of the Auxiliary. Things like a link to the electronics forms page, a good place to learn about knot and an image or two that you might like to have.

I'll have other items from time to time that I think will be helpful or enjoyable. A very nice fellow named CAPT. Mark Kern once remarked, "If you are not having fun, you are doing something wrong." We hope to do enough right to have a good time.

Free Anti-virus software from Grisoft and VCatch.  You can evaluate others at this site.

As promised a link to the Forms Page and another to knots courtesy of the Shooting Star.

For those of you who wish to become webmasters or learn a little more about what we do there is a great deal of information at the AIRS site on how to obtain free space and all the steps needed to get your site approved and listed on the national link list and Flotilla Finder.  Drop a line to the DSO-CS at the bottom of the page for any and all questions.  We would like to welcome a webmaster into each flotilla if we can!

The 7029 form in Excel format for miscellaneous hours can be obtained by right clicking here and saving to your computer's files.

Have you checked out the new e-mail directory with search capabilities? Click here and take a look.

How about a new letterhead in word? There's one right here.

Some added forms to be used for damage claims.  The Handbook with instructions is here

The claims  worksheet is here and the memo to be prepared when repairs are complete is here.

An article on Flotilla Finder published in The Pilothouse, Spring of 2005

Flotilla Finder

Every flotilla is represented in the Flotilla Finder found on the World Wide Web, what we all refer to as 'the internet'. Flotilla finder is located at http://nws.cgaux.org/flotillafinder/index.html and works by you inputting your zip code. The result is the 5 nearest flotillas to the zip code you input. Flotilla Finder works on Latitude/Longitude and the flotillas indicated would be the closest using GPS principles.

All flotillas are hyper-linked on the results page. A flotilla with an approved website will have the flotilla's URL linked and the flotilla's without a website will have an e-mail address linked.

That is a problem and also the reason I'm writing this. The Flotilla Finder is based on data that is about 4 years old. If the e-mail contact is no longer valid or if your website folded the Flotilla Finder managers have no way of knowing about local changes.

Every flotilla should check their own data. This is done by going to the Flotilla Finder and inputting the zip code for your flotilla and then checking if the linking leads you to where it should. If the e-mail address is out of date it needs to be forwarded to the DSO-CS for correcting. The following information needs to be supplied to insure that all data is correct. The flotilla name and number, the zip code for the flotilla, the Flotilla Commander's name and the old and new e-mail addresses for Flotilla Finder. This should be sent to the DSO-CS at oncoors@verizon.net The new address does not have to be the Flotilla Commander, it only needs to be a member who will care for the mail received.

Website URLs are not updated in this manner and should be cared for by using the CS "Chain" to insure that all website records are up to date. If you have any questions please drop me a line at oncoors@verizon.net and I'll be happy to help you.

Printer Problems??

If having to print more than you want to save an important piece of information bothers you and is costly for the amount of inks that is required to print a web page or an e-mail address there is some help.

Highlight the section or paragraphs you want to print. Do this by holding the left mouse button down and dragging the mouse arrow over the text. Then click on "File" in the top left corner and then on "Print". You will get a pop up screen for your printer and it will have a choice of printing options in a page range. Select the "Selection" option and tell it to print by clicking print or OK whatever your particular printer will show. All that will print will be what you highlighted and a header showing what website URL or address or who sent the mail and that it came to you.

This works on e-mail and web pages. It will convert white text on a website to black on your printer. The best part is probably the fact that all the addresses etc. and background colors will NOT be printed, just the data you want. This will NOT work with Juno e-mail.

All printers have the option to print in grayscale, just black and white. This saves using the more expensive colored inks. I've found this to be a saving when printing some Adobe forms. The 7030 will print a blue gray background for some sections. Choosing grayscale eliminates the blue. One side benefit of being thrifty is the fact that all printers will print faster in grayscale mode.
